First held in 1997, the Michelin Fall Classic Golf Tournament to benefit Meals on Wheels of Greenville has become one of the largest fundraisers and most notable golf events in the Upstate.
The first part of this two-day event is the Birdie Bash where Players and guests are invited to enjoy a live band, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a live and silent auction.

| PGA Tour Professional, Jay Haas (l) with volunteer Don Hammons. Hammons was the first chairman of the Michelin Fall Classic Meals on Wheels golf tournament, which began in 1997. He volunteered for the position, and served as co-chairman through the 1999 event. | |
Then, foursomes will play on three of the Upstate's most prestigious golf courses striving to receive the coveted Don Hammons Trophy, awarded to the overall winning team.
Each participant has a chance to win a brand new BMW with a hole-in-one on any of the Par 3 holes. In fact, three BMWs have been awarded in the last 5 years!
Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and all players will also receive fabulous gifts including premium golf merchandise.
Greenville's Jay Haas of the PGA Tour is serving his 3rd year as the tournament's official golf professional. Champ Covington is Honorary Chair and Tracy Freeman (Scheetz, Hogan, Freeman & Phillips) and Tim Blackwell (AMEC) are Co-Chairs of the Steering Committee.
Outstanding media support is provided by: Magic 98.9, WORD 1330/950 AM, WYFF-TV4, The Greenville News, and the Greenville Journal.
Over the past 12 years, the Michelin Fall Classic has raised over $2 million in support of our mission to provide life-sustaining meals to homebound residents in need. In 2007, we raised $260,000 which will enable Meals on Wheels of Greenville to provide nearly 400,000 hot, nutritious meals this year.
Please join us for the 12th annual Michelin Fall Classic and be a part of one of the best events in the Upstate!
